About Me
I'm Susan Nicholson, I joined Bigfish in the fall of 2009.  My work revolves around social media for Bigfish clients. I'm excited about this opportunity because of the creative and genuine people that work here. I feel fortunate to be a part of such an excellent team.  I'll work with them, use my interest in design, tap into my marketing degree, and use my organizational skills to help our clients develop and implement social media programs. We're going to do some neat things together -- sometimes in 140 characters or less.

I'm a southern girl from birth and have called Memphis my home for the last 19 years - time that has fueled a love for Elvis Presley. I've enjoyed finding other interesting things around town, too.  One of my favorites is an eatery called The Beauty Shop. I also enjoy the historical architecture around midtown. One of my other favorite pass times is taking road trips. That often finds me headed to Nashville. But, most of the time you will find me out for a jog or in the gym.

Above any of these other interests is a passion for my family. I love to catch a musical performance featuring my youngest son or look for art on adventurous road trips with my oldest. Then, of course, there is my husband, Tim. We met as teenagers. I continue to enjoy his love and company with the same youthful passion.

My attitude can be summed up with a quote by Mark Twain - You will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do... Explore. Dream. Discover.    This idea helped me through long days and challenging assignments when I returned to and graduated from college as an adult.

Trentisms

One of the things I love about my oldest son Trent is his dry witted sense of humor. Trent has provided us with a lifetime of laughs sometimes spontaneous and sometimes accidental. Here are just a few of my favorites with continuous updates:

In response to the waitresses question after dinner for anything else:  "No thanks, I'm bloated"

In response to a drink overflow and minor mishaps: "Uh oh, I messed up"

To a weekend host's house pet: "Thanks Gus for only waking ME up"

Working on a design: "It's hard to make blue girly"

2010 Winter Olympics: "If I was an ice skater... I would only skate to Star Wars songs"

Nashville flood, May 1 2010. In response to water conservation after the flood: So...does all this water conservation mean I can pee outside so I don't have to flush the toilet?

Education
I learn everyday but my formal education from the University of Memphis includes:

Bachelor's in Social Science the study of all aspects of society including human behavior, relationships among different groups of people and past events and achievements. They set out to understand and explain why humans make certain decisions, how and why we exercise power and our responses to change.Based on their studies, they suggest solutions to social, business, personal, governmental and environmental issues.

Minor in Marketing

My Blog

A Girl Named Q
I believe each person should  surround themselves  with beautiful objects, things that inspire them and inspire design within them. I also believe we should surround ourselves with people that love life, inspire us and are enjoyable to be around.

The world is a place full of images that warm our hearts and bring us happiness. Sometimes we are lucky enough to share those images with people we care about or sometimes people that pass through our lives for a moment. My blog is about these images and the people that I encounter day to day that make me happy and bring me joy. My blog is about the beautiful things, the "zest of life", that I encounter along the way.  I call it A Girl Named Q. Visit it now at http://agirlnamedq.blogspot.com/
